How to take natural photos of the bridesmaids
It's just too good when you get the bridesmaids to relax and laugh! I love it. I love it. I love it. Sometimes the timeline runs behind because of a long ceremony or greeting line and there's some stress in the wedding party. What do you do when you need to make up time on the wedding day while simultaneously making every bridesmaid (and the bride) feel confident and beautiful?
What's a girl to do?! That's your homework for the week. Just kidding. I'm going to share how I take natural photos of the bridesmaids because it's too good when they are all laughing and they don't even realize time is passing!
Kristina and Brady Wedding
White hung over her face and she looked up at him, eyes bright as day. He put both of his hands on her neck and kissed her forehead through the veil. He kissed her forehead over and over again throughout the ceremony. Joy hung in the air, him waiting to kiss her and her waiting to kiss him for the very first time...
How many Blog post images should you include?
Each person needs to approach this question differently. For some posts, like education posts, you may only need 1-5 images. If you're sharing a senior session, you may need to share 15-30 images! If you're blogging a wedding, you may want to share anywhere from 20-100 images!
So how do you decide how many images you should post on your blog? It all starts with your dream client...
5 ways to book more weddings this year
I opened my computer and stared at the silver apple on the screen. I could think of a hundred ways to grow my business. But I didn’t know where to start. I didn’t know what was most important and because of that, my hundred ideas were useless.
I needed to focus. I needed to know where to spend my time or I was going to end up running in a circle. How could I book x number of weddings over and over again? How could I make sure that I was booking the right kind of client for my business?
Simple posing flow for photographers
"How do you get such natural poses? How do you make the bride and groom look so in love?"
I'm excited to share the secrets of my posing process! After years of working with couples, I have found my own posing flow! The true secret is that my posing is different with each couple! While I was photographing girls at the Delight Retreat, one of them told me that I had an approach they had never seen before. "It's so... natural." Yay! That's what I love to hear!
Madalyn & Conner Wedding
She looked out the tall, white windows and into her childhood backyard. Madalyn was just minutes from seeing Conner and the room quieted. White trailed behind her as her Mom placed the veil in her hair. They laughed together and I thought I saw her Mom wipe away a happy tear.
They made their promises to each other - the kind of promises that won't be broken - as the last of the sunlight swept over the hills in the distance. And then she was his wife.
Waiting with faith that expects
I felt Daniel kick and I instinctively reached down to touch my belly. I adjusted myself on the mattress, giving my hips the change in position they were demanding. The quilt rested on my 5-month-pregnant belly and I watched it move from side to side. Do you suppose he was dancing in there?
Isaac sat beside me as I pulled out an old notebook from our college days. It was green with soft edges - evidence that it had been shoved into Isaac’s backpack. I know because I can’t stand bent corners and Isaac delights in them. We scribbled down our highlights from the year. We celebrated the victories in our marriage, our personal growth, my business, and now, the little one growing inside me. And mostly the little one growing inside.
Hannah & Tyler Wedding
Tulle swept over the stones, catching bits of bright as the light escaped the shade of the trees. She wore the necklace that had been worn by his mother and grandmother on their wedding days. It was a gold chain holding a blue jewel that had speckles of pink and purple within. I'm sure it caught the light as she walked through the sun-spotted gardens, but she didn't notice.
Because he was standing there... just ahead.
