Shooting Interior Photography feat. Crowder & Company
Come on.
You know I had to get that classic end of the bed shot for this space.
It doesn’t hurt that the bed frame is you know… helping to frame the whole shot.
I always tell Lisa over at Crowder & Co that she designs in a way that’s just A+ for shooting. Like the nightstand or the fact that she’s got a plant balancing everything out on the left side of the frame.
Gear for interior photography
You would have never — NEVER — caught me mixing these lenses 10 years ago. But I’m learning that everything in life needs contrast and interior photography is no exception. My 2 must-haves for shooting interiors:
Canon 16-35 — I cannot rave about this lens enough
Canon 100 — My favorite for up close detail shots
With a little bit of the 50 sprinkled in here and there. And of course I brought my favorite flash, popped it on top of my camera and set it up all zig zag like!
See my zig zag technique on IGTV
I love when you can mix a grand shot with a detail shot.
I mean… who doesn’t?!
Pro photo tip: turn the plants when you’re photographing them so their lines either flow into the room or add more light to the vignette.
