Hair, Heart and Soul sits at 116 South Springfield Avenue on the Bolivar square. Walk in and you find exposed red brick, a bright red feature wall, and a framed Mona Lisa keeping watch over the styling chairs.
In June we photographed a set of brand photos in Bolivar, MO, and the space gave us something to work with in every direction.
About Hair, Heart and Soul, a hair salon in Bolivar, MO
So what does Hair, Heart and Soul do? It is a full-service hair salon in Bolivar, Missouri, offering cuts, color, styling, and waxing for both women and men. Darla Allison opened the salon on the Bolivar square, and it is open Tuesday through Saturday.
Read through the salon's reviews and the same things come up again and again: friendly stylists, cuts people are happy with, and appointments that are easy to get. That kind of reputation gets built one chair at a time.
If you are looking for a hair salon in Bolivar that feels personal, this is one worth knowing about. You can see new work on the Hair, Heart and Soul Facebook page.
Inside the brand photo session at Hair, Heart and Soul
We photographed two services from start to finish. The first was a styling appointment: soft curls with a curling iron, then small braids pinned back into a half-up style. We followed it from the first section of hair to the final look in the mirror.
The second was a color service. A stylist mixed color in a bowl, painted it on with a brush, and folded each section into foil. Those process shots show the skill and care that go into every appointment.
A brand session photographs the real work, the real space, and the people behind a business. For a salon, that means hands in hair, tools in motion, and clients laughing in the chair. Those are the photos that help someone picture themselves booking an appointment.
The details that make this Bolivar salon feel like itself
Hair, Heart and Soul is full of personality. A gold-framed vintage mirror hangs on the brick. Hollywood-style bulb mirrors light the color station. Old wooden drawers hold supplies, and colorful fabric drapes along the front windows.
Even the capes have a look. Every client sat in leopard print, and it ties the whole gallery together.
Details like these are what make a set of photos belong to one business. We look for them on every shoot, from salons to the Bolivar small businesses we have photographed before.
Why brand photos matter for salons in Bolivar and the 417
People choose a salon with their eyes first. Before they call, they look at your Instagram, your website, and your Google listing. Google notes that adding photos to your Business Profile helps show customers your space, your products, and your services.
Real photos of your own chairs, your own stylists, and your own work do that job better than stock images can. If you are not sure where to start, here is a list of what to photograph for your business.
I am Jordan Brittley, and I photograph brand sessions for salons, shops, and service businesses around Bolivar, Springfield, and the rest of the 417. You can see how a brand session with Jordan Brittley works and what it includes.
