The charter us made its way across the states. We were a youth group on a mission to serve a church in Boulder. Not that I had a good understanding of what it truly meant to serve. But I was willing to sleep on the ground and love the people that I would meet. Yes, I really loved people.
The sound of rain and the bumps in the road had slowly awakened me. My fourteen year old feet were covered with a blanket and propped up on the tall window of the long bus. I watched the rain hit the window and then my eyes were focusing on the land that towered around me... just past my feet. It seemed as though the tall peaks were going to swallow our little bus. I blinked several times as I sat up to see the luscious green that ran down in every direction.
Those were mountains.
Isaac and I grew fond of Colorado in no time at all. The long hikes to gorgeous views and the tall mountains that seemed to never end fascinated us. And we have been wanting to go back ever since.
My uncle flew us out at the end of January to explore Breckenridge and eat good food. It was our baby moon and we loved every minute of it. We spent time reading our favorite books, looking at the gorgeous landscapes, and visiting with my uncle.
