Install the free light and airy preset
I really believe that editing should be simple and quick! There's no need to spend a ton of time when you can have a preset that does the work for you. I loved creating my presets because I wanted to make editing simple for our team editor. But I also wanted to have the option of editing quickly and beautifully every single time. I'm convinced every photographer needs a set of presets to handle their editing!
Today, I'll be walking you step-by-step through installing the Light & Airy preset!
Step 1
Download the preset and locate the folder on your computer. This will typically be in your "Downloads" or "Recent Downloads" folder. Look for the zipped file, "JB Light & Airy Preset" and double click it. This will unzip the file on your computer and expand into a folder with the preset inside.
Step 2
Drag the Light & Airy Preset folder into your "Develop Presets" folder on your computer. The Develop Presets folder will be located with the rest of your Lightroom essentials.
On a Mac: Library > Application Support > Adobe > Lightroom > Develop Presets
Step 3
Launch Lighroom and you will see the JB Light & Airy Preset located in the Develop module in Lightroom (seen in the top menu on the left). Right click on the folder, or control click on a mac, and select "Apply on Import." This preset will now be applied to every photo you import into Lightroom from now on.
If you would like to undo this in the future, you can repeat this step and it will not be applied on import anymore. I love to keep this feature selected because this preset helps build the foundation for a beautiful edit. We apply this preset to every digital image we take!
Step 4
Make the final adjustments and you're done! In the next editing post, I'll be walking you through how to edit different types of images after you apply the preset!
