CONNECT WITH LARISSA
What is the first thing you did this morning?!
I am one of 'those' people that loves the morning time! Today I got up out of bed to a sunny morning and turned on one of my favorite vinyls for the morning time, 'Barton Hollow from The Civil Wars'.
What is your favorite breakfast?
Nathan I are recently getting into the habit of eating breakfast every day! So if we have a morning together, I LOVE to whip up double chocolate chip pancakes (if you can call that breakfast). If it's a usual morning for just me, an iced green tea latte from starbucks & a banana are my favorite to keep me going throughout the day!
What does your typical work day look like?
My mornings are generally anything but typical, as retail calls for different work hours every day, but on average, here is how a week work day goes for me:
6:30 am Wake up, brew a cup of green tea, turn our record player on.
(one of my favorite things about our little apartment, is that we ALWAYS have music playing in our home. Our favorite vinyls are being heard, one of us is playing an instrument, or Nathan is enduring my constant singing throughout the house)
7:00 am Getting ready for my day- makeup, hair, and outfit choosing are afoot for whatever the day calls for!
8:00 am New post on the blog is up!
9:00 am The work day often begins with a shift at Ann Taylor. Grabbing a cup of joe with my store opening buddy and prepare the store for an inspiring day!
1:30 pm My Ann Taylor portion of the day usually ends here and heading home is next on the agenda
2:00 pm Once I am home, it's lunch time for Nathan & I before he heads to his work and I cram in a few posts to read from my favorite Style Bloggers, drooling over the latest style envy and baby cuteness pouring all over Bethany Kate Peterson's Instagram page, and latest fashion forecastings!
2:00 pm Get a little bit of cleaning done and any needed errands ran with a happy hour Mcalisters Tea in hand (starting to notice how much tea I drink in a day?
4:00 pm Blogging and scheduling any shoots, meetings, and post dates and goals for the week (or head to the already scheduled shoot, meeting, etc.)
7:00 pm Dinner with my family if Nathan is at work, otherwise church small group, date night in (pizza & ice cream) or date night out (Hello Aviary Cafe and card games at Classic Rock Coffee)
9:00 pm Catch up on Scandal with me myself and I if it's on, or re watch a How I Met Your Mother episode for the hundredth time with the husband.
11:00 pm Check emails, read devotional/ watch mini sermon, set out my outfit for the next day, hang out and chat with Nathan for a few.
11:30 pm Go to bed!
What is one challenge you have faced today?
Today was one of those days where my mind is in a constant state of playing the 'where will this next project take me' game and 'am I doing everything I can to achieve my career goals' blah blah blah of doubt that every once in a while creeps into my head. Getting advice from my sweet mamma, and handing my doubts and worries all over to Christ, always leave my mind in peace!
Favorite office items?
I'm pretty obsessed with my gold monogram 'R' mug, Jergens BB Body Skin Cream, my favorite little note journal, lipstick ballpoint pens, and my '1989' T Swift advent calendar. (no shame).
What are your favorite accessories?
My go-to nude NYX Lippie, St. Jude charm bracelet, MARK makeup pouch, and leopard blanket scarf.
What is one accomplishment from today!?
I finally mapped out a 6 month and 1 year plan for the blog! Being realistic but still dreaming big is a tough combination!
What are you really looking forward to in April?
Warmer weather! I am actually super hot natured and I hate being warm, but after this long winter and crazy season in Missouri, I am ready for warm enough temps for me to sit outside on my parents back porch and talk to my dad as he grills some yummy fish, and go to our favorite outdoor shooting range for some skeet shooting competitions!
What is one thing you have learned today?
Taking just a little bit of time before bed to prepare for the next day can make my whole day flow more smoothly and I feel so much more relaxed!
What is your favorite project for the day?
Preparing drafts on the blog for 4 upcoming posts this month! I am so excited for what's to come, and for my readers and friends to see the finished results!
What is your favorite book?
I just finished it actually! Keep It Shut by Karen Ehman. This book is something I want every women of every age to read in their life time! Candace Cameron Bure suggested it so of course I had to check it out! What we say, how we say it and how our words affects others can really build a person up or completely tear them down!
