He took her by the hand and stole her away for just a minute. Two minutes. They wanted to remember those first few moments as newlyweds.
Trevor picked her up in his arms and spun around and around under the tall trees. They were right next to the pond that sits in front of her childhood home. There had been tears as she walked down the aisle and tears as her Dad gave her away. There were tears in their parents' eyes as Abby and Trevor thanked them for everything.
When I think of these two, I think of strong. It's a beautiful kind of strong because they are passionate and driven. They are willing to be bold and courageous. But they surrendered everything to Jesus a long time ago and all of their "strong" is submitted to him too. They deeply care for others and serve them with joy!
Abby and Trevor have known each other for a long time and it's obvious. They aren't concerned about covering each others' weaknesses because Jesus already did that for them. The confidence they have is beautiful because it reminds you to celebrate others and point it all back to Christ. It's the most selfless kind of confidence and it changes the people they meet.
This wedding had me crying all day. I saw her Dad make final touches to the decor. I watched her mom tear up as she told Abby her favorite thing about her. I watched his parents hug him just a little longer and cheer them on as they drove away. I watched legacies being woven together at this wedding. I saw it as Abby and Trevor's marriage standing on the shoulders of their parents. And it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
