Eisley's Art Show
There is something about art that pulls you in, inspires you, and leaves you refreshed. I never feel like I get enough time when I'm walking through an art museum because there are just so many details to take in! That's how I felt when I walked into the Scowden's home and photographed Eisley's art show. This young girl is full of ideas and it was so fun to read the description of each art piece and hear about her favorites.
This home probably looks familiar since we used it for our Valentine's shoot this year (as seen on SMP)! Kim is part of the incredible duo known as Stellar Staging and Design and if you haven't seen her darling home, you are going to understand her brilliance in just a second. Kim challenged her children to dream and do what they loved this summer. One of their children wanted to cook and they threw a dinner party at the end of the summer. Eisley wanted to learn to paint and it resulted in an art show. Adorable, right?!
I want to encourage the people in my life and challenge them in this way too! I'm so inspired by this art show and thought it would be fun to interview Eisley! Without further ado, I give you the thoughts of Eisley Scowden...
Hi Eisley! What made you want to work on a lot of art pieces this summer?!
"My mom told me that I could have an art show."
What was your favorite thing about the art show?
What was it like to show all of your friends your work?
Tell me about your favorite piece of art!
"Hedgie. He was a hedgeapple man. I just really liked him."
If you could share with other creatives one piece of advice for achieving their dreams (like an art show), what would it be?
"Ummmm... maybe you should ask my Mom??"
So since Kim is the one to ask for advice on achieving dreams, I give you THE Kim Scowden!
Ha! I love you, Eisley. Well... I'm a dreamer and I will always encourage people, especially my children, to follow their dreams. We feel most alive when we are doing what has God created us to do. If you have natural giftings in an area and have received affirmation that this is a God-given gift, I would say this:
Just GO FOR IT.
It's hard work so DON'T GIVE UP. DO YOUR BEST. (But remember that your best does NOT have to be PERFECTION.) Enjoy it... never lose sight of your dream and WHY you are pursuing it. My personal opinion is that following God-given dreams serve to BLESS OTHERS. They are never, only, self-prospering. Though you, in turn, will find such enjoyment and fulfillment from blessing others through simply being who God made you to be.
What's your advice on achieving your dreams? I would love to hear in the comments below! And just how adorable is Hedgie?!
