7 Things You Need to Do Over the Holidays

Your Holiday list is pretty long, isn't it?! So why add 7 things to that list? Because I believe that you should do the things that matter. I believe you should live your life on purpose. And sometimes that means chocolate. Today I'm sharing 7 things you NEED to do over the Holidays!

7 Things You Should Do Over the Holidays - The Jordan Brittley Blog (www.jordanbrittleyblog.com)

1) Make homemade hot chocolate

I think everyone should drink hot chocolate on Christmas! And it should be made with the good cocoa, the whole milk, and a straw! Okay, I'm kidding about the straw!

2) Take a week for vacation

I know that this is not a possibility for everyone. But if you run your own business and aren't taking a week off just because you think you can't, you're wrong. Good news, right?! Click on the link below to find out how you can take a week off work and come back to a booming business!

3) Put your phone down

Please, please put your phone down and live your life! You don't have to stay "connected" to the rest of the world! Connect with the people right in front of you. You will not regret this!

4) Spend one-on-one time with different people

I will just go ahead and cut right to it: I'm an introvert. I thrive in one-on-one conversations because I feel like I can really get to know someone and listen to them. I know that not everyone enjoys this kind of conversation, but it's an important discipline nonetheless!

Decide what you want to learn about each person and ask pointed questions. Trust me, it will leaving them feel like you care (which you do)!

5) Play a game

Risk, Settlers of Catan, Spades, Monopoly, Checkers, Chess, Charades - the list goes on and on! Find a game that you will all enjoy and get to laughing!

*Side note to all competitive people like me: Remember that the goals is to spend time loving on the people around you. Not to win at the cost of a damaged relationships. Just casually win (insert wink).

6) Tell stories together

I think reminiscing is just good for your heart. Get together and share your favorite memories! This is one of my favorite things to do with Isaac. We can spend hours talking about memories that we have of each other when we were kids or things we did when we were kids! It so good and so refreshing!

7) Carry a notebook instead of a laptop

If you're an entrepreneur, your brain doesn't stop solving problems. And sometimes that can be a huge problem! I carry a notebook with me everywhere I go so that I can jot my ideas down.

This keeps me off my phone (because I always end up doing something else on my phone) and it keeps me from firing up the business brain! If you're an entrepreneur, you know what I'm talking about!

Now go enjoy the holidays! Live loud, friends. At the end of the season, you will not reminisce about your likes on social media or how much time you spent texting people who weren't there. You will reminisce about how you did the things that mattered most!
