6 Tools Every Blogger Needs to Know About

Blogging is such an important part of my business. I have learned a lot in the last few months as I have narrowed my focus to educating photographers and creative entrepreneurs. I blog my recent photography work as well as posts on business, shooting and editing, getting published, and two series (frame by frame and everyday life in the brand). There are a few blogging tools that help me to stay organized, keep up with the design and keep the process simple! I love creating great content for my readers and these tools help me to do it efficiently. Today I am sharing these 6 tools every blogger needs to know about so that you can keep your blogging workflow simple too!

6 Tools Every Blogger Needs to Know About - The Jordan Brittley Blog

I just discovered this plugin and it is so helpful while I schedule blog posts! It lets me see all of my posts at one time and move them around so that I can make sure I am keeping my content interesting! Go check it out!

I include the Simply Instagram plugin in my sidebar and footer so that blog visitors can easily see what I am posting on Instagram! If you want to remove the drop shadow, do the following:

1) Under the Plugin Files, open simply-instagram.css 2) Delete the following code:

.front-photo { border: none; padding: 2px; margin-right: 4px; background-color: white; border-radius: 5px; vertical-align: middle; }

3) Add the following code:

.front-photo { border: none; margin-right: 4px; background-color: white; vertical-align: middle; }

You can also adjust the margins and add a thicker white border by increasing the pixels! For example, the code below is what I use:

.front-photo { border: none; margin-right: 2px; margin-left: 2px; margin-bottom: 2px; margin-top: 2px; background-color: white; vertical-align: middle; }

I use this plugin for every blog post! It simplifies the process of getting my post in front of as many people as possible. At the end writing a blog post, I add the Focus Keyword, SEO Title, and Meta Description and do the SEO check. Once the light turns green, I know that it likely my post will show up in google when someone is looking for the keyword that I indicated!

I analyze my blog every week (and sometimes every day) with Google Analytics. It's free to sign up and after you follow ProPhoto's tutorial, you will be all set! You will be able to see how many pageviews and users visit your blog each day. It also tells you where your users are coming from.

I use ProPhoto 5 to design my blog and it saves me so much time. I can customize my header area, menu items and sidebar display in no time at all. It takes some time to learn the ins and outs, but ProPhoto provides tutorials that you should take advantage of to speed up the process!

I can't say enough great things about BlogStomp. I think every blogger needs a simple way to resize and group photos together. BlogStomp helps me to focus on writing for my blog instead of resizing images (boring)!
