13-Challenges-as-a-New-Mom-and-a-Business-Owner_0015.jpg

The invitation suite is one of my favorite wedding details to photograph. I love the challenge of styling the suite in a way that reflects the overall wedding. I love the challenge of creating an image that won't just be pretty but will also be meaningful. I haven't always loved the suite challenge and I imagine that you haven't either. Today I want to share these secrets with you so that you will learn to love the invitation suite as much as I do! Try one of these 6 invitation suite solutions at your wedding this weekend (or next) and share the results in the #askjordanbrittley group!

Add something from the kitchen

Adding fruit to a photo isn't always going to work stylistically but when it does, it really works. I was at Rachel and Justin's Island wedding and cut a couple limes in half for some detail styling. This is one of my favorite images of all time. I think the lime makes the image feel care-free and so does the layout of the suite.

Tip: Consider the colors of the wedding so that you know the image will flow with the rest of the gallery.

Add the veil

I enjoy adding the veil to detail photos because I think it goes with almost anything. If you are in doubt and aren't sure what to add to your flat image, try adding the veil. Anything with texture is going to take it up a notch.

Photograph the program

I always remind my brides to bring their invitation suite but sometimes they just forget. When this happens, I gather any paper details that I can find and I photograph them. I love that you would never know from the below photo that I am actually photographing the program. Both your brides and blog/magazine editors want to see the paper products, so create your own solution!

Ask the bride to bring extra elements

I tell my brides (in an email) to bring their favorite ribbon and stamps so that I can photograph it with the invitation suite. Sara went above and beyond and brought along blue, pink, and gold cutouts. I styled them around the suite and included her stunning bouquet. All of this paired with the wood? Yes, I do think I love photographing the suite!!

Add fresh flowers

If I am photographing the invitation suite and there are flowers available, I am going to use them. I typically suggest to the bride to order a few loose blooms so that I can style the flowers with the bridal details. Even on my way to see her, I am looking for flowers that will go well with her wedding decor. My photographic style is elegant, organic, and genuine so flowers are the perfect addition to any photos. Plus, I just love flowers. 7 Solutions for Invitation Suite Photos - The Jordan Brittley Blog
