5 Instagram Story Ideas for March

March is a fun content month if you’re a business owner. It’s the perfect mix of seasonal change, built-in holidays, and those random national days that make people even happier about peanut butter.

I’m mentally there: drinking a chocolate peanut butter latte.

If you’ve been staring at your Instagram stories thinking, “What do I even post?” Here’s how to use March to your advantage.

March 1 – National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day

Random national peanut butter day is what we are here for.

Well, aside from growing a business we believe in.

But there’s also peanut butter and it’s a fun thing to talk about because it’s a low pressure style of content.

Use this day to:

  • Run a “this or that” poll (peanut butter vs almond butter)

  • Share your favorite snacks

  • Tie it creatively to your product if it makes sense

Brands that feel alive get remembered.

Early March – National Day of Unplugging

Interestingly this is a weekend of getting off your phone and using less technology. But this is very helpful because business owners often can’t get away from their phones, it becomes a pain point and it becomes a reason behind what you do.

Story ideas:

  • Talk about how your daily routine supports your mental health

  • Share how you protect your creative energy

  • Ask your audience if they struggle to unplug

  • If your product or service offers a way to unplug then this is a great time to educate

All of March – Women’s History Month

If this aligns with your brand, this is a full month of storytelling opportunities.

Highlight:

  • Female founders you admire

  • Women on your team

  • Client spotlights

  • Lessons you’ve learned in business

  • Milestones in your own journey

It would be cool to turn this into a series if it fits your brand.

March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day

You do not have to post a green flat lay unless it fits your brand.

We will likely be doing that on several of the accounts we help and we will do it on @jordanbrittleystudio in one way or the other.

But you could take a different approach:

  • “We’re lucky to work with…”

  • Share a lesson you’re grateful you learned early

  • Offer a short “lucky” flash promo

Have fun with it!

March 19–21 is the First Day of Spring

Spring content works because most people are excited about the change in season and they are looking ahead to the summer.

Story ideas:

  • Show a workspace refresh

  • Swap out winter props for brighter, lighter styling

  • Show how your product fits into someone’s life this spring

The Bigger Strategy Behind All of This

March is when people start buying again.

Use your stories so that you can:

  • Have some fun connecting to your customers

  • Share how you can solve a problem for your customer

  • Share current, creative and useful content

What are you going to post about in March?
