I love these posts! They force me to be intentional each month and they keep me accountable for the goals that I set. I tend to be focused on getting a lot done and setting goals has forced me to be realistic about what I can do with the time that I have. I have learned that I need to hit “pause” on the giant list of things that aren’t important so that I can hit “go” on the things that really matter. And what are those things that matter in my life? A relationship with the Lord. Our growing family. Our Church family. A business focused on Glory to my King and service to couples preparing for marriage. Educating and encouraging with the blog and shop.
PERSONAL GOALS Send out thank yous after my last baby shower this month! Develop a list of everything we still need for our boy and develop a financial plan to purchase those things! Walk 4-5 times a week at the gym! Pack a bag for the us + the baby! - Is it really time for this?! I can hardly believe that he will be here so soon!!
Possibly have a baby! This past week some Virginia friends came to visit for a creative retreat of sorts (hey there Mere & Megan!)! I showed them around my hometown, downtown Springfield and my favorite parts of St Louis! We went to the arch (a must for out of towners), the Central West End, Zia’s (hello amazing Italian food), Russell’s and Forest Park! There were so many places that I wanted to show them, but there are only so many hours in a day!! In case you don’t live in Missouri, it snowed. And it snowed a lot.
Isaac and I headed back to southern Missouri at 4:30 pm and it normally takes us 3.5-4 hours to get home. We didn’t get home until 1:30 am. And this even involved a small car accident for the two of us! No damage to the car or our family, but I did have to spend the night in the hospital so they could observe me and the baby.
Good news: This baby is doing GREAT! Better news: We will probably meet him a lot sooner than we originally thought!
They did a complete ultrasound as part of the overnight observation and he is measuring at 36 weeks (and 6 lbs, 9 oz)! That’s a big baby even for 36 weeks! So my due date is either really March 26th or he will need to come a little early! No gestational diabetes, just a really big baby! We won’t know for another 3 weeks what the new plan is, so it’s time to put on my adventurer’s hat and just get ready to have a baby!
Because I was so sick at the beginning of my pregnancy and couldn’t put on any weight, I kept asking God to give the baby what the baby needed. So after only being able to gain about 11 lbs, this big and healthy baby is an answered prayer! The Lord absolutely gave me what I asked. Praise Jesus.
Rest, rest, rest! - There is going to have to be a balance this week (post-accident) with all of the things that I want to do and all of the rest that must happen. So I’m surrendering my routine and my list of extra to-dos to serve this baby and take care of myself!
